Every have one of those days? Today my day started knowing that for the second time in a week I pulled a leg muscle while stepping of the stairs and knowing that there is no way to run in the mornings with this thing going on. Also Neil our intern was feeling pretty sick and all thou I told him he should stay home he marched out of the house like the Loyal soldier he is, however I should have known that the look on his face was going to describe some of our day. We actually went about the day feeling some what,
well, like a “let’s get some BIG things done!” So we decided to help save on electricity we’d re-route the main water supply directly to the ministry supply line and kind of by-pass the pump system, therefore eliminating the need for an electrical pump to supply water pressure. We started the project and we were able to get it done by lunch and return to switch it all over and marvel at our work—and marvel we did! Great water pressure, no leaks and no pump to supply it, so now we start saving BIG money!
NEXT>>>”Hey Sergio?” “Yes Dennis”. “Let’s go out to Casa Esperanza and make sure that sky light was installed right”>>> “OK Dennis, Let’s go”. So we are off to Casa Esp. only to find that who ever installed that skylight did a terrible job and now we’d have tear it apart, repair the roof, and re-locate the skylight, and this time do it right. So yea, we’re guys and we grumbled about the time it would take to redo this, and why people do things that they just don’t know how to do. We figured out what was needed and then with smiles and laughs we returned home.
Now>>>>As we pull up to the ministry site we see lots of water, and no only on the ground, but also wet marks running down the walls! WHAT HAPPENED! Starting to wonder where we went wrong in our plumbing job we quickly found out that a sink fitting broke loose and water went everywhere. The guys dorm was completely flooded, half of the girls dorm, and some of the dinning room. We proceeded to clean up the mess and believe it or not—-We just laughed, what else are you doing to do? Debbie came over and helped and as she was standing there she saw a 4×8 sheet of sheet-rock fall and just miss me, she screamed, I laughed. We got all the water out, and I know it will be a few days (or months) until we know the extent of the damage, and yea, it was kind of a relief to know it wasn’t our plumbing job that went bad, we just need to install a pressure regulator.
Things happen and as in the movie Young Frankenstien we can always say “Could be worse”, but then hope it dosen’t start to rain as it did in the movie. But, it can, it can get worse, so what do we do about it? I know we can always call in an Attack, or the Devil is after me–again. But how about we try to find the ways we can grow from it, or hey, how about if we look at the fact that GOD might be trying to show us something, or working our brains in overdrive to help us grow. I know I did not learn all I have from everything going “right”, but I’ve learned most of what I learned from fixing the things that were “Wrong” or “not right”. A great teacher I have and although I know it’s tough to say but,,,,,,,I hope the lessons are not over. Now,,,,anyone have a mop we can borrow?
