For the last few days we have been here in the OC and also in Riverside county. We came up to attend a Joel Beukleman’s wedding and to take Cassie out for here birthday (she’s now 24!) It is always fun to return to your old stomping grounds and especially after you’ve been living in a different culture. Often we are asked “Do you miss living in the U.S.? Well,,,yes,,,,and no. So I thought I’d write down some of the things we miss about living in the OC (the U.S.)

Shopping Malls, good Pizza, seeing family, nice drivers, less litter, clean Dogs, live dogs, Green Belts, the smell of fresh cut grass, Nat’l Parks, the Red, White and Blue flapping in the wind, seeing good friends and the occasional “Guess who I ran into?”,  driving through Big Sur, going to a NHL Kings game, the occacial sound of a fighter jet flying over head,  and last but not least—- walking around Balboa Harbor and eating a Balboa Bar dipped in chocolate and nuts.

What do we not miss,,,,$$.$$ to go see a movie, sig alerts, driving everywhere to go somewhere, Beach traffic, city traffic jambs, smog, perfect looking homes, seeing everyone take care of homes except for those that live in them, 20 minuter sermons and 40 minute services (we’re used to 1 hour sermons and 2 hours service,  perfect everything (S), CCnR’s (community regulations),  and last but not least—– everyone and I mean everyone connected to their cell phones and texting as you try to carry on a conversation with them–come on, disconnect every now and then!!!!!

So, yea, visiting the OC (the US in general)  is fun and we’re always wondering who we’ll bump into, and hopefully some day it will be YOU!!
