I love that song “Taking care of Business by BTO and it’s hard to think that 2009 is off and running and I really honestly don’t know if I’m ahead or behind. I just spent 2 1/2 days replacing control arms, 4 new disk , and brakes on the Explorer and I’ve found out what happens when other people do work for you that’s  WRONG!—what a head ache,,,,but it’s done!

It’s usually hard for me to really face the New Year as I know there is always much to do, you think about the thinks you need to change, the things you want to change, and the things that will happen and you’re not ready for. For the last few years we have met with an old high school friend during Christmas (hi Cherie) and we all started to write down our goals for the new year and then we’d meet back up open up our envelopes the following year to see how we did. This year we took it a step further and did this with our small group study and we also added our Highlight of 2008, a special Christmas memory, and then our New Years resolutions (goals) and,,,,,here some of what I put down,,

2008 Highlight,,,, Project Javier with Oasis high desert chruch and Horizon of Galt CA.

Special Christmas memory,,,, Christmas eve at Nicki’s place, Nicki getting to drive the Plymouth for the first time, and the Midnight run to Jack in the Box with Cassie and her Boyfriend Nick on Christmas Day.

2009 Resolutions (Goals)  Finish up my little shop at the House, rebuild the Fury’s motor with Debbie, play the harmonica more (maybe guitar), be more diligent with ministry book keeping, more walks with Debbie, Read 2 books, More devoted time with Jesus, be more in tune with Nicki and Cassie spiritual lives, and try to be more than just “that working construction guy,,missionary, guy, do stuff kind of person”.

So that is it,,,,that’s what I’ll be working on over the year and we’ll have to see how it goes, and some of this I’ve already been working on and some it has my feet stuck in the mud.

We have Mucho groups coming down this year as well, which is kind of surprising being how things are going with our economy and some of the security issues in Tijuana. So far we have…

3 groups in March,  Cornerstone Christian Fellowship of Arizona, Vanguard Univ., and Salt Creek community of Oregon

2 in April,  Bear Valley community of South Cal.  and,,well,,,,,hummm don’t have them down yet.

May, Get ready for Summer!

June, 4 groups,   First Presbyterian Church of Petaluma, Horizon Community of Galt Ca, St. Louis Fellowship or St Louis, and Sunnyside Chapel of Washington

July, 4 groups, Oasis High Desert of South Cal., Horizon Comm. of Galt Ca, Quail Lake Baptist of Stockton CA, and Valley Community Church of Pleasanton CA.

August, 4 groups,  Canyon Lake Community of Canyon Lake (yeaaaa our home church!!), Fellowship Bible of Peoria Ill, Alderwood Community Church of Lynnwood Wash. and Canada Bible Chapel.

So it’s looking like a full year, but there is always room for more and we love to have drop in’s and Vistiors, so give us a call and come on down and the Tacos are on us!
