OK, yea, so I’m mixing a little of Thanks Giving in with my writings on Meth and you must be thinking that I’m gone a bit crazy,,,just hang in there and you’ll get it. Now,,,,For a long time Thanks Giving for me always meant a long trip to McCloud California to visit my Grand Parents and to play in the snow, ride snow mobiles, and yea, eat! I think my first trip must have been when I was around 8 or 9, and my trips would continue for a long time. I was there when my hair crew long and my Grandpa freaked out, Debbie sat at my Grandma’s table when she received her engagement ring, Nicki took her first steps in the kitchen, and one night my Dad handed me the reins and let me handle all the kids fighting in my Grandma’s living room. Such grand memories of that house and so often I wish I could return there and watch another generation warm it’s walls. Read the rest of this entry »

Dennis Hollenbeck, Matt Polhammer, and Norm Crawford.

Dennis Hollenbeck, Matt Polhammer, and Norm Crawford.

It was a kind of cold early morning sometime back in 1978, or could have even been in 77, but we three stood there saying good bye to our good friend Matt who was off to Japan for a year in the Forighn Student Exchange program and although we knew he was coming back, we knew we (Norm and I) where going to miss our Third Wheel, Fellow Moose, and just good old hanging out doing crazy stuff FRIEND!

I’m sure Norm and I wondered exactly how things would be with out Matt but we soon learned how to still have fun without him as I’m sure he learned to have fun without us, and we also learned that we’d establish new friends to have wild and crazy times with—Right Greg???

Now that was some 30+ years ago and most friends from those good old High School Days would just fall away and soon become just a distant memory. For us however it has been the complete opposite Read the rest of this entry »

We all see the commercials about PC vs. Mac and that poor old guy that nervously tries to compete with Mac who calmly helps him stumble to what ever endless point PC guy is trying to make. For a long time the commercials kind of bugged me as I was a true hearted PC guy. I’ve always been a PC guy and the first thing I did to my 486DX 33 Mhz computer with 8 megs of ram and a 850 mb Hard Drive was to take off the cover and see what’s inside. Shortly later my neighbor helped me install a bigger hard drive and then from there I never looked back. I proceed on my personal search for the PC that best suited my needs and being a big PC gamer I found the only way to do it was to build my own machines. I’d buy all the components needed and them assemble my PC gaming/work horse computer and I must say that some of my machines have simply been outstanding. Read the rest of this entry »

Good Bye to Calle Isla Maria 132

Good Bye to Calle Isla Maria 132

No we are not moving, but, well, we now have an official certified street address, yes, we finally got this done. When we first moved into the little Ex-ejido Chapultapec there was not much of anything here including no electricity, no water, and no telephone lines. Our address was simply Section 9,Parcel 11, lot 11. Then our little community came up with a name for our little area which is Vista Al Mar, kind of like being in an un-incorporated community, they call them Colonias or some other word I can’t spell out. Then there was this big community meeting (party) that we missed because we were gone for the holidays and they handed out street names and addresses and ours was Calle Isla Marias 132. Pasquel, Debbie and Javier

It has been over a year now that I found myself sittingĀ  on a concrete beam some 15 feet up off of the ground and it seemed kind of weird driving up to Javier’s place know that it was MOVING DAY! It was not like any kind of moving day that most of us go through as there was no big moving truck, there were no boxes upon boxes to move, and there was no team of people to get it done, just Debbie, Sergio and myself. We had a few things to finish up and we trimed out some of painting, hooked up the propane, and put another coating of stain on the shelves I built for him. Everything was going great and we even ahhh’d and Oooo’d when the stove lit and for the first time felt the hot water come out of his new shower. Read the rest of this entry »

I’d have to say that out of all my Blog writings this one is the most difficult to put into words, and mainly because I’m still trying to figure it all out. This last week was one week that I thought I’d never really be involved in, well that is in the way we were involved and what we witnessed. For the last few years our family has been dealing with a family member who has been, and still is hooked on Crystal Meth, which is a very addicting drug and would have to say that it will indeed bring out the devil in you. The sad situation that surrounds this is the children that are affected and seeing that battle within the battle to protect them, but in this very confusing time it’s very easy to get caught up in the emotions of what is right and what is wrong.

This is a battle that some of my family members have been dealing with for a long time and I’ve only heard of the torment that goes on in the way of hellish fights, death threats, Read the rest of this entry »

Debbie and I had a dinner date at Resturante La Bufadora tonight but our guest had to cancel do to the Pre-Mexico independance day activities,,,,yes, they start the party off early on this side of the boarder. So being that we had our heart set on dinner at the restaurant we decided to go ahead and head out. So we did the usual stuff you do as a married couple at a restaurant, eat, talk, enjoy the live music, eat and talk. Then we decided to walk to the Blow Hole and it is weird how things can be so different at different times of the day, well,,,in this case, night. Read the rest of this entry »

One pair of Rancho RS9000xl's with over 120,000 miles

One pair of Rancho RS9000xl

Yea!!!!, 193,000+ miles on the Blue Ford truck! Today I was changing the oil and noticed that I was able to bounce the front end with little effort, so I needed to do a little inspecting… Come to find out the upper bushings (little hard plastic thingy’s) were totally gone, therefore making it seem like there were not shock absorbers, so I decided to take them off and inspect them, then I found out that maybe I should just buy some new shocks. So not long after I ordered them a new pair of Bilstein’s were packaged and ready to head my way. Folks,,, people, Chevy Boasters,,,That’s about 120,000 hard Baja Miles on that truck, so please no “you should have bought a Chevy”. Read the rest of this entry »
