Debbie and I had a dinner date at Resturante La Bufadora tonight but our guest had to cancel do to the Pre-Mexico independance day activities,,,,yes, they start the party off early on this side of the boarder. So being that we had our heart set on dinner at the restaurant we decided to go ahead and head out. So we did the usual stuff you do as a married couple at a restaurant, eat, talk, enjoy the live music, eat and talk. Then we decided to walk to the Blow Hole and it is weird how things can be so different at different times of the day, well,,,in this case, night.

The first thing you notice is no cars and no one out in the middle of the road trying to pull you in to pay and park in their lot. Then you notice that you can hear the waves crashing on the rocks and in the distant you can hear some dogs barking. You then start to walk down the shopping area and soon you have that “I am the only person left on the Planet” type feeling and it can be a bit spooky. There are no shop vendors, no pharmacy discount coupons being stuck in your face, no music—nothing. Eventually you do come up on some shop owners going through inventory and checking stuff and we really laugh as they don’t skip a beat and right away they ask you to come in and “chhhheck it ou Mon, I’ve gots stuffs almost for frees here–Mon”.

Then you get to the blow hole–dark, lonely, you can’t see the steps, and as you look down you can’t see the swell coming in, but you can hear it. Then,,,all of a sudden Boom! This Ghostly blast of water shoots up and it’s a very spooky kind of feeling and the blow hole takes on this whole different kind of feel. It’s almost like it’s trying to reach out and grab you, or like it’s trying to say “Now let me show you what I can do!”. You actually so much more and the sounds of the water running down the rocks is a new and peaceful kind of experience.  It’s also odd to look down into blackness and hear it coming and then the blast of WHITE Water come up and take over the blackness of the rocks. So it was a much different visit to La Bufadora—-quiet, spooky, lonely, Romantic, exciting, and the couple shop vendors that were there provided us with some humor as well.
