cleaned up a bit. Turns out that Sergio totally over slept,,,,so much for that. Next we headed down town to run errands, check mail (get our taxes), visit Javier and think of what to do next with his house, then we went out for Fish Tacos.
Then we came home and finised up some stuff. Then I thought,,,wow, Day Light Savings time, so I got going on some work on the Plymouth. Today it was the removal of the front fenders, and all and all it went good and I found only one real difficult thing we’ll need to deal with. One of the supports for the bolt clips has rusted away, so this means I’m going to have to weld on a strip of metal to support the clip–should be
interesting being that welding is no my specialty,,,but yet, niether is engine building.
So I just worked out the bolts, hummed a few tunes and eventually got to the “HEY DEB!!! I NEED SOME HELP!!!!” Which pretty much meant it was time to take off the first fender. Funny thing is she was in the middle of putting on new sheets on some of the down stairs beds and guess where the Fenders went—yep, right on top of them clean sheets—Not’n but the best for Donna! Debbie is a champ and she’s totally into this project, so she got over the fact that fenders are sitting on top of the beds.
I’m removing the Fenders to allow us to get into and paint some areas that never got re-painted, and that have some surface rust. I also want to paint the engine compartment and I might as well get into it and clean up and paint some of the chassis.
Hopefully this weekend we will be pulling the motor and getting it on a stand for final dis-assembly, and then off to a machine shop to have the block checked out. Well,,,,right now I’m going to go and check the push rods and make sure they are all nice and straight.
Nighty Night!!
