I think most of you got our Christmas letter and got a little update and a year in review, but often people never hear about—WHAT GOES ON DURING CHRISTMAS! So,,,,,,I’ve kept a bit quiet on the Blog scene and I’ve waited for everything to cool down a bit and share what went on with us over Christmas. Our trip to the States started after the long hard decision which was to bring or not to bring the Plymouth and the night before we reached that decision and loaded it down with our stuff and Neil’s belongings as well. All was going good until we reached the 2 hour wait at the boarder and just six cars from crossing—-She died on us. Nothing to serious, just a battery that was not getting a full charge due to the heater being on, and after a little help from the locals and a jump we were on out way.
Most of our time was spent at Debbie’s dad’s house in Lake Forest and it did not take long to get to work as we removed and replaced the failing ridge cap on their roof, and I could not pass up the opportunity as to have some fun yelling HO HO HO down the chimney. Having the Plymouth with us was fun as well and all together we attended 3 car cruise in’s and some had as few as 6 cars and one had well over 100. It was fun hanging out and drinking coffee or eating a nice fat hamburger at Fuddruckers, and I even made a niffty Mopar Christmas wreath for the grill that looked way to cool.
Our time with the girls was as always lots of fun and we saw Nicki and Cassie at different times and sometimes it was while shopping, or going for a walk in Laguna Beach, and then of course there was out traditional Christmas Eve! This year we were all very excited to be with Nicki as she had her first Christmas in her new place in Riverside. We had lots of fun and Cassie’s boyfriend Nick made some outragous steaks and Debbie and I help Nick’s daughter Elizabeth construct a ginger bread house. The hit of gift of the night was my
Homer Simpson Key chain which would come in Handy as the girls chit chatted about PJ’s, Slippers… and with a press of the button Homer would come to the rescue with a loud —”Boaring!!!” and then we’d proceed with the gift unwrapping and sharing. As we open gifts it is always our tradition that eveyone opens their gift one at a time, taking turns, sharing what we got, who it was from, and share what is special about the gift—-or make something up that sounds nice.
Everything about this Christmas was fun, special and unique. Nicki got to take the Plymouth for a spin for the first time, and in the rain. Cassie cruised us in the Plymouth to Jack in Box Christmas day at Mid-night and we had burgers and shakes. There was out late night walk in Laguna Beach with Cassie. We visited our good friend Cherie, played some games and shared stories from the good old days. There was the early
morning run to Starbucks for Peppermint Chocolate Mocha “Grande” and a nice visit with Cherie. There was the Classic Car and Hot Rod gatherings. My Mom cooked us a killer Christmas dinner complete with enchiladas
, home made beans, Mexican rice and Ice Cream with my Step Dad to boot!
So as you see it was a very event filled week and we cruised out way around Orange County with Christmas music playing, rain falling, candle lights glowing, and a good old HO HO HO down the Chimney. We hope you all had a Blessed time as well and the best gift we can all recieve is know in the Salvation of Jesus Christ. Oh yea,,,,,that’s right,,,,that’s what CHRISTmas is all about!!
