This is a little “Project Javier” update. We try to make it over to Javier’s house at least once a week and try to get some work done. We were also hoping for a reply to the posting that we had up and guess what? We’ve had a small fridge donated from Oasis High Desert Church and my Mom and her husband, Fran and Don Baur sent in some funds to help with some of the needs and if you look at the picture to your right you will see a picture of Javier’s water heater, and he never uses it. It is not in the best shape and they just can’t afford to have it on all the time, so yea, Javier and his Dad use cold water to wash up in.  So God’s plan slowly comes together—Muuahahahahahaahahaha….

So,,,,Here we are working on the plumbing, then we get a nice donation to help with supplies so we can continue the building. Javier has no water heater to really speak of and it’s hard for them to afford the gas to keep a regular water heater going, so….. Why not install a tankless water heater?!?!! And that is exactly what we are now working on. I purchased a nice NEW Bosch heater and we are currently plumbing it up. It can sometimes be a difficult thing running pipe and all, but we are kind of doing it backwards due to how the house needed to be constructed.  So today Neil and I trucked up there and proceeded to bore holes, cut pipe, sweat pipe… And it was a great opportunity to teach Neil a few things about plumbing.

Hopefully by next week we’ll have most of the plumbing done and have it ready for a pressure test, but then well need to re-install the cement board, lay ceramic tiles on the walls, then we’ll be able to get the final hook up done. There is a group coming from Bear Valley, CA. and we will be working on the flooring and we’ll start to lay down the vinyl squares and have the floor finished and ready for a sealer and polish.

The work is getting done, but at a slow pace, but one thing is consistent, Javier’s excitement as the work gets complete! If anyone else is interested in helping us with this project please contact me.
