My how time flies by and there is so much about the past memories that make it seem as if it was just yesterday. I still the morning that Debbie woke me up and and said “It’s Time!” and before we knew it we were flying out the door and on the way to the hospital. Unlike Nicki Cassie came into this world like a tornado and barely gave us time to catch up to her. Funny though how she actually started out to be very shy, but in many ways we could see that she was always up for excitement and at times the first to step forward and take on the Challenge. I’ll never forget the time all the neighborhood kids built a bike ramp to jump their bike on and it was such a Narly ramp that we took a spray can and wrote “Eat This” on it. So when it came time to some one to jump the ramp no one was ready to dare the danger that awaited them,,,,except for Cassie. I remember seeing her at on a drive way with her helmet on and sitting on her little pink bike complete with tassels and all. With not much time to react she was off and running cranking those peddles and headed for the ramp. She hit the ramp and flew a bit and then hit the ground pretty hard and as the tire hit a rut in the grass she crashed. She was OK, a little whimper and quiver of the lip and she was ready to go again.

Cassie was our social butterfly at home and she always had somewhere to go, a party to plan, and when we were too tired to take a group out for ice cream Cassie was always up for the call. Living in Mexico was not easy at first but before you knew it she was like your typical Mexican teenager toting her back pack and riding the Micro Bus to the movies. She also was a great worker and instructor in the ministry as well. She could do just about anything, but I loved Mondays the best as we always teamed up to pour concrete.

As time has it she would soon be leaving for college and venture out and start her own life. We knew this

house would be quiet, but not as quiet as it is now. Cassie however was excited for her new life and when we dropped her off she almost seem anxious for us to get on our way so she could dive into her new world,,,she just waited until we left to cry. However, we felt secure in her confidence and even though college did not work out the way she expected it to Cassie just moved forward and searched her heart and now she’s has a great Job with Double Tree as a sales Manager,,,,Sales? Cassie? I would have never guessed it, but she loves it.

This last Friday I received a phone call that let me knew a new chapter in Cassie’s life was coming right around the corner, and this call was from her boyfriend Nick who was asking for her hand in Marriage. I had a good talk with Nick and let him know that he had our blessing to move ahead with his plans. The Next day the call came from a Cassie who was very excited, and at times cried as she told us she was going to get married to Nick. All four of us eventually hooked up at a winery in Temecula and had a little Champaign toast and another good LONG talk. So our little Cassie is all Growed up! Now we have some time to prepare and many special new memories to be made.

Congradulations Nick and Cassie!
