The high ropes was a blast and very challenging and it banged us up a bit as well. A few bruises on the old arm, and a slight bruised rib. Debbie says I made a slight moan every time I rolled over. You find out how out of shape you are in, how thin the air actually is, and what a 110% means. I was especially proud to see Debbie out there giving it her all and not giving up, well, that is, at times you have no option to give up. I did give Jacobs ladder a try and I teamed up witha girl that had never done it before, you see, as facilitators (those that work with the groups and campers) they must be trained and have consistent practice on the High Ropes). I worked as the pusher upper and then I would use her to pull myself up. The funniest part was at one point she felt as though she had no way to get her leg up any further then her foot found a rock solid foot-hold,,,,,my Stomach! We did not make it to the fifth pole, but we gave it all we had.

I know Jesus puts obstacles in our lives and at times we confront them because we want to, but knowing it’s going to be difficult, or because we know we have to in order to get to the next stage in life. Like the high ropes Debbie and I had to do it together and even when we felt as if we could not go any further we were given the strength to continue on. How many times to find our selves “Stuck” or “Trapped”, out of breath, no strength… And we ask our selves “Why God?” Why and I out here dealing with this?” But it’s at these times we need to reach out for help and use the 110% that the good Lord has blessed us with.
